Felipe Plechac-Diaz is an Associate Attorney at Leiderman Shelomith Alexander + Somodevilla, PLLC.  He handles personal bankruptcy matters, corporate bankruptcy matters, Assignments for the Benefit of Creditors and bankruptcy litigation, representing debtors, creditors and bankruptcy trustees. Felipe has experience in Chapter 7 and 11 bankruptcy cases. 

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Felipe graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts and graduated from the University of Miami School of Law in 2013 with a Juris Doctor.  Prior to joining the firm, Felipe served as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert A. Mark of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida.

While in law school, Felipe was a student attorney with the Eleanor R. Cristol and Judge A. Jay Cristol Bankruptcy Pro Bono Assistance Clinic, where he represented indigent clients in the United States Bankruptcy Court. As a result of his efforts in the clinic, he was awarded by Dade Legal Aid with the Most Outstanding Law Student of the Year Award for 2013. Additionally, while in law school, Felipe interned for the Honorable Laurel M. Isicoff of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Felipe is serving a two-year term as a director of the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the Southern District of Florida as of July 1, 2017.
